The main goal of the project is to strengthen cooperation between Polish, Belarusian and Ukrainian organizations dealing with tourism issues. The know – how of the project is to generate ideas and translate them into the preparation and implementation of joint cross – border projects.
Objectives of the project:
– Training of employees of public organizations, local authorities, tourist information centers and other agencies active in the field of tourism in the border areas of Poland, Belarus and Ukraine, to implement cross-border tourism projects and joint tourist activities.
Project activities:
Among the activities implemented during the project is the transfer of knowledge – how to prepare, execute, manage and evaluate tourism projects. A series of seminars will be organized in three partner countries to train qualified personnel in order to properly process applications and manage tourism projects for international technical assistance co-financed by the European Union.
Expected results:
– The number of people trained in the preparation of applications and the management of international technical assistance projects will be 90 people.
– The number of organizations interested in the implementation of cross-border projects and registered in the database of the created Internet site will amount to no less than 100 subjects.
– The number of cross-border projects jointly implemented by representatives of organizations active in the field of tourism will increase by 3% compared to 2011, 3 years after the end of the project.

On March 19-20, 2014, within the framework of the project “The Planet of Ideas – Transboundary Knowledge Transfer in the Sphere of Attracting Investments for the Development of Cross-border Tourism” in Grodno, training was provided for employees of tourist information centers, local authorities, non-governmental organizations involved in the development of tourism and other tourist organizations. The training took place in the conference hall of the “Tourist” hotel. The training involved 30 people. These included three representatives of the town of Novogrudok.
According to the training program, the classes were held in the form of a “Round Table” and the following issues were considered:
1. Modern tourism as a branch of economy
• The structure of the tourism industry;
• The importance of the tourism industry for the social and economic development of the country and the region;
• Discussion “Regional tourism industry: expectations and opportunities” (on the example of the administrative-territorial units of the Grodno region).
• Trends in the development of the modern tourism industry: global, regional, national and local aspects;
• Tourist resources as a factor in the production of tourism products: classification and evaluation of “attractiveness” (attractiveness);
• Case study “Regional tourism resources: assessing tourism attractiveness”.
2. Algorithm of project preparation
• Programs and projects of international technical assistance: goals, opportunities and implementation examples in the Grodno region;
• Life cycle of the project (programming, identification of the project idea, project formulation, project implementation, project evaluation and audit).
• Definition of the project idea;
• Drawing up a project application.
